Carlton Troy Cunningham A.K.A FOXY D is a professional artist who has been the keyboardist for various bands across New York, New Jersey ,Connecticut ,The tristate areas and Jamaica. He specializes in being a keyboardist, song writer, arranger, producer of music and songs, educator of music and motivational speaking. Carlton Cunningham taught music for 5 years at the Browns Town High School in St.Ann Jamaica.
Carlton is the second oldest child of Marcia Richards and Carl Cunningham, all his siblings are lovers of music. Carlton’s elementary years were spent with his colleagues from school playing music at various hotels and had the opportunity of sharing the stage with Popular artist such as: Ibah Mahr, Hezron, Gary Nesta Pine (former lead vocalist for the wailers), Jason spirit, The Anthem Reggae Band, Katt 5 Krew, Luthan Fyah and many more.
During his final year at high school, he decided to challenge himself by attending The Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, one of the most superlative music school in the Caribbean. While attending the college, a drastic change was made to his perspective on life and the way he handles daily challenges. As the years went by, Carlton’s passion for music grew more intense as he became more creative in making his dream become a reality. Music is not just a job for Carlton, it is a tool that sustains his happiness.
Artists & Musicians such as Bob Marley, Luciano, Morgan Heritage, Buju Banton ,Michael Jackson, Mint Condition,New Edition George duke, Chic Corea, Art Tatum,Marcus Miller,Wayman Tisdale, Victor Wooten, Naje, Cory Henry, Romain Virgo, Chronnixx, Chris Martin and many more has played a major role in his musical journey. The elements grasped from these musicians helped to spur his musical creativity.
